💜 For grown-ups

Privacy and safety

The short version: BrainSprout keeps only what the games need, never shows ads, and never lets children talk to strangers.

Last updated 24 October 2026

Playing without an account

Children can play every free level without signing up. Their stars and progress are saved only in that browser on that device. We don't receive them.

What we keep with a family account

Accounts are for parents and guardians. Children never get their own login or password.

  • About you: your email address, your password (stored in scrambled form by our sign-in provider; we can't see it), an optional first name, the date you gave consent, and a grown-up PIN if you set one (stored scrambled, so nobody can read it).
  • If you sign in with Google: Google tells us your email address, your name and your profile picture, and that the email is yours. We use the email to sign you in and your first name to say hello; we don't use the picture. Google doesn't get anything about your children from us. You need no BrainSprout password.
  • About each player: a nickname you choose, a cartoon picture, an age group, and any screen-time settings you choose (a daily limit, quiet time, school hours and break reminders).
  • Game progress: which levels were played, scores, stars, how long a level took and when, and how many minutes were played each day (to apply the daily limit and show it to you).

Emails we send

  • Account emails: confirming your address, password resets, and a reminder if you haven't confirmed yet.
  • If you'd like them (they're on unless you turn them off): a welcome with games to try, a reminder before a free week ends, and a weekly progress report on Sunday evenings with your children's nicknames, minutes played, levels, skills and report-card progress (or, in a week they didn't play, a short reminder with one game to try).
  • Every one of these has an unsubscribe link, and you can change them any time in Grown-ups. Emails are sent through Resend, our email provider.

What we never collect or do

  • No full names, birthdays, photos, voice recordings, addresses or locations of children.
  • No advertising and no advertising trackers. We don't sell or rent anyone's data.
  • No chat, messages, friend lists, public profiles or named leaderboards.

If you buy Premium

Payments are handled by Razorpay. You type your UPI, card or bank details into Razorpay's secure window, never into BrainSprout, and we never see or store them.

We keep only what we need to give you Premium and answer questions about it: which plan you chose, when it started and ends, whether payments went through, and Razorpay's reference numbers. Razorpay keeps payment records as Indian law requires.

Why we keep it

Only to save progress across devices, show you what your children are learning, and keep the service working and secure.

Cookies and storage

We use what the site needs to work: a sign-in cookie for grown-ups, a cookie that remembers which player is playing, and browser storage that keeps progress on the device.

To know how many people visit, we count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and stores no personal data. We also keep simple daily totals of our own (for example “12 level checks finished today” or “5 Maths Market levels started”): just numbers, with nothing that could tell one visitor from another. If something breaks, an error report (the page address, the browser type and what went wrong, never names or emails) is sent to Sentry so we can fix it.

If you arrive from an ad or a shared link, a small cookie remembers which campaign it was (for example “facebook” or “whatsapp”) for 30 days, and if you sign up we note it on your account. It tells us which channels families find useful. It never contains anything about your child.

On a few pages for grown-ups only (the free-week page, the level check's start and result pages, pricing, the page for parents, sign-up, adding a player, the Premium page, the founding-families page and printables) we use the Meta Pixel to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads: for example, that someone who saw an ad later signed up. It is never used on games, play screens, the level check's rounds, the sticker book or anything children use, and we never send Meta names, emails or phone numbers. You can limit ad tracking in your Facebook settings or with your browser's tracking protection.

On the same grown-up pages we use the Google Ads tag to measure our Google Search and YouTube ads in the same way. It is never used on games or anything children use, and we never send Google names, emails or phone numbers. You can limit this in your Google account's ad settings or with your browser's tracking protection.

Who helps us run it

Data is stored with Supabase (database and sign-in), the website runs on Vercel, payments are processed by Razorpay, emails are sent by Resend and error reports go to Sentry; Meta measures our ads on the grown-up pages listed above; Google measures our Google ads on the same pages. They process data only to provide these services to us.

If you send us feedback

What you write in a feedback box, your first name, your child's class if you choose it, and (if you're not signed in) an email address if you leave one, so we can reply. If you tick “may show my words”, we may show what you wrote on the site with your first name and city; never your email or your child's name. It goes to Bijoy's inbox and is only used to improve BrainSprout and answer you. If you're signed in, it's linked to your account and deleted with it.

Teachers who review our games

Nursery, LKG and UKG teachers check our games and worksheets. We set up their login with their email, and keep their name, the classes they teach, years of teaching, city and (if they give it) their school, a short line and a photo, plus their reviews. Parents see their name, photo, classes, experience and city only if the teacher agreed, and their school only if they allow it. Never their email. A teacher can ask us to change or remove any of it at any time.

Schools in our pilot

When a preschool applies for the free school pilot, we keep what the form asks: the school's name, type, address, city and state, website if given, the classes it has and roughly how many children (a number only), and the contact person's name, role, email and phone. We use them to review the application, send the activation link and emails about the trial, and talk to the school. Once a teacher signs in, we keep their email, when their trial started and ends, and their feedback.

We never ask schools for children's names, photos, dates of birth or contact details, and nothing about the children is saved when a class plays. Schools never see families' details. A school can ask us to delete its details at any time by writing to hello@brainsprout.fun.

Your choices

  • Change a player's nickname, picture or age group at any time.
  • Delete a player, and all their progress goes with them.
  • Delete your whole account from the parent dashboard. Everything is removed straight away. If you paid for Premium, we keep only the amount, date and payment method for our accounts, with no name, email or phone number; Razorpay, which processed the payment, keeps its own record.
  • Clearing your browser data removes anything saved on that device.
